FAQ.

What is BodyTalk? BodyTalk is a modality based in energy medicine. Each system, cell and atom in our bodies is in constant communication with each other at all times.  Through our exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, these lines of communication become compromised, which then leads to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental well-being.  Reconnecting these lines of communication enables the body’s mechanisms to function at optimal levels, thus preventing disease and rapidly accelerating the healing process.  In this way, BodyTalk stimulates the body’s innate ability to balance and heal itself. During a BodyTalk session, the practitioner facilitates communication with the innate wisdom of the body by using neuromuscular biofeedback.  By following a comprehensive protocol of questions, the client’s body leads the practitioner to identify the priority imbalances within the body.

Are your services covered by insurance? Unfortunately, they are not. Since I am not a Registered Massage therapist, my services are not covered under insurance. That said, if money is an issue, please know that I am open to having a conversation around sliding scale pricing when appropriate.  â€‹

Do you accept Tips for your services? While I very much appreciate the thought and generosity, I do not accept any tips for any of my services. The best way to support myself and my business is to leave a review on google and/or tell your friends and family about your experiences. My business grows by word of mouth - And this truly is the best way you can support me and show your generosity!

Do you offer deep tissue massage or sport/injury? I do not offer deep tissue massage or massage related to sport injury. That said, I know plenty of excellent RMT's in Kelowna, and I am happy to make a referral. I am passionate about nervous system regulation, and supporting your body to process emotions through therapeutic touch and energy medicine. I am currently studying Raynor Naturopathic Massage which will allow me to treat deep tissue, but for right now, I am strictly focused on relaxation massage. My goal is to support your body/mind in a parasympathetic state, allowing your body and mind to fully relax.

What is a distance BodyTalk Session? A distance BodyTalk session works basically the same as an in-person session, minus the fact that the session will be conducted remotely via video conference or phone call.  You will fill out a health history form, and I will ask you what your primary concerns are.  When it's time to receive your session, approach it the same way you would in person. Please ensure you have a quiet environment and a comfortable place to sit or lie down.  There typically isn't much to do or see, while you receive your session. When it's time to tap out your balance, I will guide you through tapping over your head, heart, and abdomen, which helps reinforce the subtle energetic tapping that I am doing from a distance. I have completed Mindscape and Advanced Mindscape, which is training that supports the practitioner in mental focus and clarity.

How does a Distance BodyTalk Session Work? BodyTalk uses concepts from modern physics such as quantum entanglement, which steps out of the realm of classical physics. To provide a simple explanation, everything is energy. In Bodytalk, we say that everything is consciousness. When you deconstruct anything physical, you end up with molecules, atoms, subatomic particles, and ultimately frequencies of energy. Every "thing" and every person, has a unique frequency, the same as every radio station, and television station has it's own unique frequency. Using advanced mindscape skills, the practitioner is able to "tune in" to your own unique energy frequency, to access the information that is necessary to conduct your BodyTalk session.

Are Distance BodyTalk sessions effective? Yup! (In fact, I personally get all of my own sessions done remotely). Both clinical experience, and client feedback have shown that virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions. In addition, a peer-reviewed research study focusing specifically on virtual BodyTalk sessions, was published in the Journal of Pain Management, published by Nova Publishers, demonstrating the effectiveness of distance BodyTalk in helping people suffering from chronic pain, depression,  and anxiety.

Do I need to believe in BodyTalk or distance Sessions for it to work?

You do not need to believe in BodyTalk or energy medicine, however, it definitely helps to be open-minded!  Think of your mind as a receiving station for information. If your mind is closed, it may be less receptive to the work we do together.  If you can acknowledge that anything is possible, because, well, we're constantly evolving, and revising our understanding of how the world works - Then your mind will be more receptive to the session, and therefore, more likely to experience greater benefits.
